Grace Period Registration and Same Day Registration
If you miss voter registration deadlines, residents can register to vote at an Early Voting location (Grace Period Registration and Voting) or at their Polling Place on Election Day (Same Day Registration and Voting). Those who participate in Grace Period Registration or Same Day Registration and Voting must cast their ballots at the same time they register.
Important Dates

Will County: Please go to https://www.willcountyclerk.gov/2025consolidated/ for important dates.
- March 4: Close of in-person registration.
- March 12: Sample Ballots will be available no earlier than March 12, 2025 (Will County).
- March 16: Close of online registration.
- March 17: First day of Early Voting.
- March 17: First day Vote By Mail ballots will be mailed (Will County).
- March 27: Last day to request a mail ballot, including military and overseas voters.
- March 31: Last day for early voting at the office of the election authority and locations designated by the election authority.
- Tuesday, April 1: Day of Consolidated Election. Polls are open at your day-of-election location from 6am to 7pm.
- April 1: Last day mail ballots can be postmarked.
- April 8: Last day a provisional voter may submit additional information to the county clerk or board of election commissioners to verify or support the voter’s registration status. Material must be received by this date.

- Monday, March 17 – March 31 – Early Voting throughout Will & Cook Counties.

- Monday – Friday, March 17 – 21, 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Saturday, March 22, 9am – 12pm
- Sunday, March 23, 10am – 4pm
- Monday – Friday, March 24 – March 28, 8:30am – 7pm
- Saturday, March 29, 9am – 3pm
- Sunday, March 30, 10am – 4pm
- Monday, March 31, 8:30 – 7pm
Election Day
- Tuesday, April 1, 6am – 7pm.
- The Frankfort Public Library District is a polling site for precincts 024 and 026.
- Voters cannot turn in their Vote By Mail Ballot to an Election Judge for counting on Election Day.
They can only surrender their Vote By Mail Ballot to the Election Judge and then request an Election Day Ballot to be cast that day. Surrendered Vote By Mail Ballots will not be counted. - Election Night Collection at Will County Clerk’s Office:
- Ballots must be collected at the close of polls at 7pm on Election Night.
- Ballots that arrive after 7pm will not be accepted at the Clerk’s Office for counting.
- Ballots received at the Will County Clerk’s Office after Election Day must be postmarked by Election Day. These ballots will be tabulated no later than the Provisional Count, scheduled for the second Tuesday after Election Day
