The registration period for the online voter registration system will close at 11:59pm on 10/20/2024 and will reopen on 11/07/2024.

Grace Period Registration and Same Day Registration
If you miss voter registration deadlines, residents can register to vote at an Early Voting location (Grace Period Registration and Voting) or at their Polling Place on Election Day (Same Day Registration and Voting). Those who participate in Grace Period Registration or Same Day Registration and Voting must cast their ballots at the same time they register.
Important Dates
- Wednesday, August 7 – Will & Cook County Clerks begin accepting vote-by-mail applications.
- Thursday, September 26 – Early voting begins at the Will County Clerk’s office. Will County Clerk begins mailing ballots to residents.
- Tuesday, October 8 – Voter registration closes for deputy registrars and local election officials.
- Wednesday, October 9 – Limited Early Voting for suburban Cook County will be available Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm at all five suburban Cook County Circuit Courthouse locations and in downtown Chicago at 69 W. Washington.
- Sunday, October 20 – Last day to register to vote by online application for the State of Illinois.
- Monday, October 21 – Early voting begins throughout Will and Cook County.

Early voting information & sites for Cook County - Thursday, October 31 – Last day to request a mail ballot, including military and overseas voters.
Will County Vote By Mail
Cook County Vote By Mail - Monday, November 4 – Last day for early voting at the office of the election authority and locations designated by the election authority.
- Tuesday, November 5 – Day of General Election. Polls are open at your day-of-election location from 6am to 7pm.
- Tuesday, November 5 – Last day mail ballots can be postmarked.
Drop Box for Will County
The Will County Clerk’s Office will locate nine ballot drop boxes across Will County. The Library is a satellite Drop Box site.
The Drop Box will be located inside the Frankfort Public Library District at the entrance from Tuesday, September 24 – Monday, November 4.
*Drop Boxes at satellite sites will close the Monday afternoon before Election Day.

Election Day
- Tuesday, November 5, 6am – 7pm.
- The Frankfort Public Library District is a polling site for precincts 024 and 026.
- Voters cannot turn in their Vote By Mail Ballot to an Election Judge for counting on Election Day.
They can only surrender their Vote By Mail Ballot to the Election Judge and then request an Election Day Ballot to be cast that day. Surrendered Vote By Mail Ballots will not be counted. - Election Night Collection at Will County Clerk’s Office:
- Ballots must be collected at the close of polls at 7pm on Election Night.
- Ballots that arrive after 7pm will not be accepted at the Clerk’s Office for counting.
- Ballots received at the Will County Clerk’s Office after Election Day must be postmarked by Election Day. These ballots will be tabulated no later than the Provisional Count, scheduled for the second Tuesday after Election Day
